News

A news section or a news letter, that us updated regular(weekly???) whould be nice so the rest of the world how much the devs are working and what area is improveing

Translation

Translate QT moko into other language (I could translate into Danish if I know how (gettings the strings and summiting the translate strings again).

When trying to fellow http://qtopia.net/doc/qtextended4.4/syscust-internat.html I get a error (make: *** Ingen regel til at skabe mål 'lupdate'. Stop. (no rule for making the gual 'lupdate'. Stop.)) when running "make lupdate". I assume that git://github.com/liedekef/qtmoko.git is $QPEDIR

When starting qt moko for the first time the user sould be asked what language he/she would like (in english)

Documentation

A few howto:

How to build the jffs file (includeing checkout of the code) and kernel/uImage
How to make a "hello world" application
How to translate qt moko to another language
How to use OpenStreetMaps map with Mapping Demo/gps

At kde they are something called "jonior jobs" that is suppose to be easy and a nice way to start contribute the the project. Maybe Qt should have the same?

QT moko hacker party

The SHR people did have a hacker party. Shoulq qt moko has one as well? Where and When?

The core dev team is probably too small to speak about an event of this kind. We are 5 devs. 4 european and 1 chinese. The 3 european are one germany (I think, not sure, maybe he is american), 1 belgium, 1unknown(north europre, iirc) and 1 ita... we are very spread and only 5 devs... maybe if the team increase, it can be a good idea :) Fale 18:28, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
If it is going to happen one day I can get the rooms in Denmark (Jonas Vejlin)
Thank you for your offert :) Fale 09:07, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Contacts

Easy way to edit contacs from a gui runnning on my PC (eks kontacts)

Emulators

Includeing some emulatos for Nintendo and C64 and such

They have the same problem of the games, than the response is the same. Fale 18:25, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Games

Include more games such as widelands, Battle for Wesnoth, FreeCol, Neverball, SuperTux ets

Most of the games you nominated (if not all) does NOT work on qt nor are available on SDL (that still have to be implemented) Fale 09:39, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
At http://www.opkg.org/category_2.html there are a few interrasting games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Pingus, Liquid War, openttd and Linball. Maybe include some of those? I do not know if they are ported to qt nor if they use sdl
Since qt moko is based on qt and kde is based on qt, maybe it is easy to port kde games??

You tube

Implement easy to use youtube downloader/viewer. This could be part of qmplayer application, because mplayer is already available there.

Enable cpu frequency scaling.

Instant Messaging

ICQ and IRC clients are required (with ability to work in background mode). Finished Jabber support is also needed.

I was planning to work out something during this summer, but if you want to work on it... you are welcome :) Fale 18:25, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
mqutIM (ICQ/Jabber client) and NoxChat (IRC client) are available in the feed. ANT 16:29, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Document viewer

It would be nice to have PDF/DjVu file viewer.

Detailed battery info

GTA02 PMU provides various info like battery life, current power consumption. It would be nice to display it e.g. in new tab in System info.

More easy to install applications

Try to collect all Qtopia applications in our git. But do not install all of them as default. Instead we could provide really easy way how to install them. E.g. scan SD card and if we find any packages there, then we provide new menu with uninstalled applications and provide one-click to install.

We could provide also on big file called additional apps that has all these applications prebuild.

USB mass storage mode

Create GUI to switch to USB mass storage mode. link

stall=0 module param is needed for reliable g_file_storage

Qtmoko (gui) as debian-package

This could make a update more easy..

Other keyboards as programms

as example a fully qwerty-keyboard as a .deb-package.

and a setting-part to selecting your prefered keyboard "forever"..

syncml & webdav(s)-support for calender & contacts

then nobody is depenting on qt-sync, which is just avaible for windows. you could use a cache to safe webdavs-files.. http/https is also a possibility (like in horde/e-groupware)

backup everything

may it's cool if we could backup all the settings (timezone, bg-picture, style, contacts, calendar, etc) with one app

format contacts & calendar-entrys

someties it's could be cool to format all the contacts | calendar-entrys to fill everything in with a updated vcf | ics (a art of overwrite)

Wireless Connections

Make the wireless connections GUI easier to find, work better and find an easier way to configure it.

Also make it possible to connect to WPA/WPA2 Enterprise networks (and not just unencrypted, WEP or WPA/WPA2 PSK). This would make it compatible with, for instance the eduroam initiative, and would make it a lot more popular to use on University campuses all around the world i.e. a lot more momentum!

Show calendar today events on Homescreen

Show calendat events for today on Homescreen and don't show it, when the time is over

Set Profile from calendar

Set in calendar meeting from 8:00 - 12:00 the phone changes the profile at 7:55 from General to Meeting and at 12:05 back
