[edit] Download and installation

The files to be downloaded for QtMoko and the installation of QtMoko is described here. If you are running MacOSX instead of GNU Linux, consider installing OpenMoko Flasher which is a GUI around dfu-util.

[edit] Change the root password

After the installation first try to setup USB networking between your workstation and your OpenMoko as described here. From there start a SSH connection via the USB-cable to your OpenMoko with the following command:

ssh root@192.168.0.202

Once connected to the OpenMoko give the following command at the Neo-prompt:

passwd

You will be asked to enter twice the new password for the user root. After that the root account is protected with a password.
